The majority of our holiday rituals involve going home or doing special things at home – whether lighting candles, decorating a Christmas tree, caroling through a neighborhood, or hosting festive “open house” parties. It’s all about home. The Christmas Season is about another kind of homecoming as well, the homecoming of Christ to redeem and renew us, this earth, and all creation till “heaven and nature sing” when Christ returns.
