SUMMARY:6/16 Breakthrough Prayer Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Us on 6/16 at 6:16 pm for a Breakthrough Prayer Facebook Live Event! \nIf you listened to Pastor Scott’s May 31 message (https://crossroadswaunakee.org/sermon/break-through-prayer-2/) or gotten your regular mail this week\, you know Crossroads UMC has begun a Breakthrough Prayer Initiative.  Breakthrough prayer is when God’s people join together in intentional prayer asking God to break through whatever holds us back so that we can boldly move forward and fulfill God’s intention for ourselves and the church.  You are invited to be part of this prayer movement by stopping each day at 6:16 am or 6:16 pm to read the scripture and prayer on the card mailed this week (or\, see below). \nIn addition\, on June 16 (6/16) at 6:16 pm you are invited to be in your car in the Crossroads UMC parking lot and pray the breakthrough prayer together.  This event will be streamed LIVE via Facebook\, and after the prayer\, we will (safely) hand out prayer reminder SWAG (Stuff We All Get) through your car windows. \nThen\, don’t forget to contact the church office or Pastor Scott over the next few weeks and months to let us know where you have seen God breakthrough in your life.

SUMMARY:God's Dysfunctional Family
DESCRIPTION:Summer is a time for family reunions. For some\, family reunions are fun and fulfilling. For others\, they are uncomfortable or even painful. We all have some dysfunction in our families. We have stories that we’d rather not tell. In the stories of Genesis\, we discover God’s chosen family – those first generations of Israel – had struggles\, secrets\, sibling rivalries\, and even threats of murder. As we explore these rich and ancient stories\, we see how God works through and in spite of family dysfunction to bring about God’s purposes for the world\, and we find hope for God’s presence and movement in our own families.

SUMMARY:New Year\, Same Promises!
DESCRIPTION:“New Year\, new you”: this is the message we get from pop culture\, year after year. We vow to make changes to our diet\, exercise habits or lifestyle\, but instead of those resolutions\, most things stay the same. This may be cause for disappointment\, but there is some consistency we can celebrate. God’s promises to us do not change with the calendar or the latest fitness trend. Rather than focusing our energy and attention on making (an in all likelihood breaking) promises to ourselves\, come to Crossroads for our “New Year\, Same Promises” series\, and let’s spend the first part of the new year learning about and appreciating God’s unbreakable promises.

SUMMARY:Kat Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Kat Trio comes to Crossroads! \nAbout: This unique classical ensemble known as the Ekaterinburg Classical Trio\, aka the Kat Trio\, was born in the summer of 1998 in Ekaterinburg\, Russia. Vasil Galiulin\, Victoria Gorbich\, and Vladislav Gorbich\, all graduates of the Ural State Conservatory\, decided to take their love of music and their violin-clarinet-piano arrangements to festivals and concert venues throughout the Urals. They spent much of that summer playing to enthusiastic audiences in town halls and indoor stages. \nThe audience feedback was encouraging\, even inspiring\, all the while reinforcing the overpowering feeling that their calling was to take their new impressions of classical music and their heartfelt performances to a much greater audience. Their first US tour in the spring of 2000 was a major success and these world class players return as often as possible to play for their appreciative American audiences. \nOn the Kat Trio’s 2006 Tour of the US\, violinist Victoria Gorbich and clarinetist Vladislav Gorbich were joined by pianist Viatcheslav Ovchinnikov. Like Victoria and Vlad\, Viatcheslav (nickname: Slava) is a graduate of Ural State Conservatory in Ekaterinburg. \nDuring their work on doctorates at Arizona State University\, Victoria and Vladislav Gorbich were joined by pianist Mauricio Arias\, from Bogata\, Columbia\, a graduate of Fundacion Universitaria Juan N. Corpas\, for two tours. \nVictoria and Vladislav were touring during the summer of 2010 with Patrick Christians\, a graduate of Michigan State University\, as guest pianist. \nDuring 2011-2012\, the Kat Trio was touring as artists-in-residence with Wisconsin Public Radio and the Chazen Museum of Art. For that tour Victoria and Vladislav were joined by pianist Julie Page\, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison. \nPianist Melody Ng was a member of the trio from October 2012 till June 2013. She received her doctoral degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and joined the music faculty of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. \nDuring the summer of 2013 Heidi Wiskur was a guest pianist with the group. She continues to collaborate with Victoria and Vladislav in 2013 and 2014. \nJustin Snyder has been performing with Vladislav and Victoria since fall of 2013. Justin moved to Michigan in early summer of 2014. \nToday “The Kat Trio” is Victoria Gorbich\, Vladislav Gorbich and pianist Joseph Ross. They are on the road presenting the trio’s unique Russian arrangements and transcriptions of timeless melodies. The Trio’s concerts feature classical works\, well-known inspirational songs\, and even American pop standards\, including Scott Joplin’s rags.
