DESCRIPTION:The heart of worship is celebration! We celebrate who God is\, what God has done for us in Jesus\, and the new Spirit-filled lives we get to live because of it. By taking the time to celebrate God’s gifts to us — gifts of diversity\, unity\, promise\, and new life – we are attuning ourselves to the good things in life\, so that\, even in times of struggle and hardship\, we can be sustained.

SUMMARY:Drink From the Fountain of Grace - Lent 2025
DESCRIPTION:Throughout Scripture and today\, God sustains God’s people in the most basic of human ways – physically\, with food and drink\, and spiritually – with food and drink for our souls. This Lent\, as we remember what it means to be human\, we find refreshment from God’s fountain of grace. The different images of cups shown in Scripture will serve as a touchpoint for exploring aspects of our relationship with God. What does our brokenness say about us? What does discipleship look like? What does it mean to seek justice? This exploration culminates in the most exciting celebration of all – that Jesus is risen for us and we have new life in him!

SUMMARY:Commitment
DESCRIPTION:A new year\, a fresh start! In our tradition our commitment to the church is understood through five vows of membership: prayers\, presence\, gifts\, service\, and witness. Will you commit to serving God and God’s people this next year through the Crossroads UMC? Yes?! Let’s put our “yes’s” on paper\, on our calendars\, and in action! Each week we will look at one of our vows\, then we will celebrate God’s love in this place with our commitments for 2024!

SUMMARY:Jesus: The Light of The World
DESCRIPTION:“Light of the world You stepped down into darkness Opened my eyes let me see Beauty that made this heart adore You Hope of a life spent with You And here I am to worship” by Tim Hughes Many melodies have been enhanced by the four words of Advent: Hope\, Love\, Joy\, and Peace. Each year we light the candle of our Advent Wreath as we prepare for Christmas: the coming of Christ. It is in our preparations that we are invited to ponder on Christ’s coming with a lens of Hope\, Love\, Joy or Peace. Sometimes that pondering leads to singing. Nov 26 through Dec 17 we will worship as part of our preparation. You are invited to join Pastor Angie in study as well as she looks at “Light of the World” by Amy-Jill Levine on the Wednesday’s of Advent. Then\, on December 24\, we will sing with gladness and give that’s for Jesus\, Emmanual\, Prince of Peace.

SUMMARY:Thankful\, Grateful\, Blessed
DESCRIPTION:With trick-or-treating behind us\, some are feeling full: full of candy\, full of snow\, or full of gratitude. Sometimes the activities of this world remind us of the ways that we are cared for by God and God’s people. Sometimes our day-to-day activities do not. This month we prepare with thankful hearts for the season of advent. It might seem odd to prepare for preparing\, but hey\, let’s give it a try! 🙂 Let’s think about being thankful\, grateful\, and blessed as we worship together.

SUMMARY:The Journey Begins
DESCRIPTION:We seem to be always beginning. Or at least we have a tendency to speak about how we start our journey of faith. To some\, that seems redundant. “We began long ago\,” they might think. And that could be true. Yet\, each day is a new beginning\, a reaffirmation of the desire to be a disciple of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Even though there are those of us who are more seasoned travelers on the journey of faith\, we are constantly met with new disciples. Rather than being slowed down by this\, we are rejuvenated by the zeal that new converts often bring with them. “The journey begins” then is a time of celebration and of hopefulness. So\, here in the late summer and beginning of fall\, when some things are winding down and other things are starting up\, it is time for us to remember who we are and to whom we pledge our ultimate allegiance. Let’s go back to our first love and embrace our God with passion and with joy.

SUMMARY:Childrens Fellowship in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Greetings from Crossroads Sunday School Team \nIt is summertime.   A time to recreate and to enjoy one another and God’s Creation. \nFor the summer\, our team has two goals:  to maintain continuity among the Sunday School children and to reach out to the Laubmeier Park neighborhood.  To achieve these goals\, we have planned three fun\, fellowship\, and faith events.  All events will take place at Laubmeier Park\, the new subdivision just north of the church.  Our hope is that the children from that neighborhood will join in our activities and learn of Christ’s love and our Christian fellowship. \nThe events take place in the early evening (5 pm to 7pm).  During that time\, we will offer a light supper (hotdogs\, lunchables\, etc.)  After supper\, we will have a Bible story and lesson; sharing games; and play on the Laubmeier playground equipment.  If weather permits\, we will have a “water balloon exchange.” \nParents are invited to stay for the activities.  Or\, you may drop off your child(ren) and return at 7.  Families are encouraged to invite friends to join in this time of recreation and witness. \nPlease share this announcement with your children and plan to attend.
